Jebel Ali Beach Emerges as the lengthiest Beach in Dubai
It's Official: New Dubai Metro Station Plan Announced
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has approved the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project, which is set to become Dubai’s longest public beach. In collaboration with Nakheel and Dubai Municipality, the project will feature a 5 km sandy beach and a 1.6 km mangrove beach. This initiative aims to enhance Dubai’s coastline and provide more recreational spaces for residents and visitors.
The project includes:
- 2 Km Swimming Beach
- 5 Km diving area
- Scenic walkways with viewing platforms
- Diverse recreational facilities
Spanning 6.6 km across 330 hectares, Jebel Ali Beach will feature:
- Dual two-lane roads
- Parking for 1,000 vehicles
- 80 bicycle racks
- Cycling track
- 5 km running track
As part of Dubai’s strategy to expand public beaches, the project aims to increase beach lengths by 400% and improve existing facilities. It is designed to enhance visitor experiences while protecting essential ecosystems, such as mangrove habitats. This initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation.
The Jebel Ali Beach project will feature three main areas:
- The Pearl: Located near Palm Jebel Ali’s entrance, this central hub will offer family-friendly beaches, sports facilities, a swimming pool, kids’ play areas, a beach club, and various dining and shopping options.
- The Sanctuary: Focused on turtle conservation, this area will prioritize environmental preservation alongside recreational activities.
- The Nest: Within the mangrove area, this site will emphasize education and conservation efforts, serving as a hub for biodiversity studies, turtle rehabilitation programs, and public awareness campaigns.
