Dubai International Airport (DXB) achieved a record 44.9 million guests in the first half of 2024, an 8% increase year-on-year, solidifying its position as a leading global aviation hub. During this period, Dubai attracted 9.31 million international visitors, aligning with the city’s economic growth, with a GDP of AED 115 billion (US$31 billion) in Q1 2024, a 3.2% increase. Key markets like India, China, East Asia, Western Europe, South Asia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) played a significant role in DXB’s success. India remained the top destination with 6.1 million passengers, while Chinese traffic surged by 80%, reaching 1 million passengers, close to pre-pandemic levels. The airport handled 216,000 flight movements and 39.7 million bags, both record highs, with January being the busiest month.
