Emaar Plans Dubai Super Tower To Challenge Burj Khalifa

Emaar Unveils Ambitious Plans for Dubai Super Tower to Challenge Burj Khalifa

Emaar is considering plans for a new “super tower” in Dubai, set to surpass all other developments in height and likely become the world’s second-tallest building. Sources reveal that Emaar’s founder, Mohamed Alabbar, aims to incorporate sustainable, cutting-edge technologies never before used in any global project. The company already holds the record for the tallest building with the 828m Burj Khalifa, which opened in January 2010. The new tower’s design and construction are expected to push boundaries beyond anything attempted globally, both in height and innovation.

Potential locations for the tower include Downtown Dubai near Burj Khalifa and Dubai Creek. Four designs are under consideration, featuring a glass tube structure, a rocket-shaped tower, and a futuristic design with gothic spires. The project is envisioned as a luxury development, integrating AI in its design and operation, with high-end offices, hotels, leisure, and residences.

In comparison, Azizi Developments is currently constructing Burj Azizi, designed to be 725 meters tall and set to become the second tallest building by 2028. Marina 101 and Princess Tower are currently the second and third tallest buildings in Dubai, though both are significantly shorter than the Burj Khalifa. The Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, initially designed to exceed 1km, has faced lengthy delays. A source close to Emaar remarked, “This tower will be the biggest achievement in Dubai and the world since Burj Khalifa.”
