DUBAI METRO: A LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT IN AUTOMATED TRANSPORTATION
In 2012 this remarkable transportation network achieved a significant milestone by securing a place in the Guinness Book of Records. It earned recognition as the world's longest automated metro line where electric trains seamlessly operate without human drivers.
METRO INAUGURATION : 09 / 09 / 2009
➊ Two main lines, Red Line and Green Line, are part of the metro network in Dubai.
➋ The Red Line runs from Centrepoint Metro Station to EXPO 2020 Metro Station and vice-versa.
➌ The Green Line runs from Etisalat to Creek and vice-versa.
🚇 GREEN LINE - This metro line runs through historic Dubai, covering both Deira and Bur Dubai districts. It offers passengers glimpses of iconic landmarks like the Gold Market, Spice Market, and other historical sites that define the city's rich heritage.
🚇 RED LINE - This coastal metro line from Jebel Ali to Sharjah passes through Dubai Marina and Business Bay, providing easy access to attractions like Mall of the Emirates, The Dubai Mall, and Burj Khalifa.
ROUTE 2020 – EXPO 2020
ROUTE 2020 is an extension of the Dubai Metro Red Line. It connects Jabal Ali Metro Station to the Expo 2020 site. It opened in 2021. The project also brings the Dubai Metro to communities such as The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates and DIP.

➀ The Dubai Metro is set to undergo a massive expansion, adding a staggering 421 km of new tracks by the year 2030.
➁ By 2020, an additional 110 km of metro lines will have been constructed.
➂ Specifically, the Red Line will be extended by 15 km, reaching the World Expo 2020 site. This extension aims to facilitate convenient access for exhibitors, speakers, and attendees to the prestigious event.
