Since 2020, cycling has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity within Dubai. The city has witnessed the construction of impressive velodromes, bike parks, and a network of bike pathways and extensive trails, catering to cyclists of all skill levels. This trend has extended to various residential communities in Dubai, where dedicated cycling amenities and pathways are enhancing the cycling experience for residents. The enthusiasm for cycling was showcased by the participation of 35,000 individuals in the renowned Dubai Ride, a massive cycling event held last year.
DUBAI HILLS ESTATE
Has a lot of space dedicated to parks, green spaces and a 54 km bicycle track. Also, Dubai Hills Park is open to the public featuring wadi trails, a 2.5-kilometre jogging track, children’s play areas, a splash park, volleyball and tennis courts, a skate park and an outdoor gym.
DISTRICT ONE
In the heart of Dubai lies a vibrant community with a mix of villas and apartments, encompassing a beautiful 7 km long lagoon. Encircling this area is an 8.4 km bike trail offering stunning views of the iconic Burj Khalifa. Adjacent to the community, you'll find the DXBike sports complex, complete with rental shops, cozy cafes, refreshing showers, and an exciting pump track.
NAD AL SHEBA
There are three different loops – 4km, 6km and 8km – plus lockers, air-conditioned changing rooms and shower facilities. The course is even lit for night riding, making it the perfect choice even in the warmer summer months.
JUMEIRAH BEACH
Fancy a cool beachy breeze on your face while you cycle? Then head over to Jumeirah Beach's 16km track that runs parallel to the shoreline, connecting to the Jumeirah Street bike path, and stretches all the way to the Dubai Water Canal and beyond.
DUBAI MARINA
Jump on your bike and take a trip along the 12.5km track that starts from Al Sufouh and crosses the outskirts of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City to go right into the heart of Dubai Marina. There’s plenty to see and take in along the way, from street and city views to the buzzing vibe of the neighbourhoods of Dubai.
AL QUDRA
Al Qudra Cycle Track is an exclusive cycling track where visitors experience a complimentary cycling practice. It is an 86 km stretched long track along with the breathtaking desert vistas.
FUTURE OF CYCLING IN DUBAI
As a part of Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to enhance the quality of life of citizens, residents and tourists in the city, a development project titled “THE LOOP” has been announced. This involves constructing a 93km-long, climate-controlled highway with access to key locations and services by foot or a short bike ride.
